This Hotel Doolin Wedding Video was created on September 7th, 2024, where I had the privilege of filming the unforgettable day of April Dooley and Conor Cahill in Co Clare. We got a beautiful day with blue skies, amazing locations and guests who came to party!
The day started with bridal preparations in Liscannor. The house was buzzing with excitement from the early hours as hair and makeup began at 7:30 a.m. Orla Dooley from The Head Shed and Teresa Bradbury of CoCo Rouge Makeup created a timeless, elegant look for April and her bridesmaids. April’s bridal look was complete with an Eva Lendel gown from MK Bridal, LODI shoes, and a sentimental pearl necklace that once belonged to her late grandmother, affectionately known as “Nana Pearl”.
The champagne flowed as the bridal party toasted the morning. By noon April was dressed and ready, sharing tender moments with her parents and bridesmaids. The excitement in the air was palpable as everyone prepared to leave Liscannor for the first look at Doolin Pier.
Conor, who had been getting ready with his groomsmen at Cullinans about 20 minutes away in Doolin, arrived for the first look, and it was nothing short of magical. The stunning coastal backdrop set the stage for an intimate and emotional moment between the bride and groom. Shortly after, photographer Mrs Redhead captured beautiful bridal party photos before heading to Hotel Doolin for the nuptials
The ceremony began at 2:30 p.m., officiated by Pat Clarke Browne. The couple incorporated deeply personal elements, including a sand ceremony featuring Conor’s son, Robbie, and a heartfelt poem written and read by their close friend Mags Coleman. Pat O’Neill provided the perfect musical backdrop for the ceremony, making each moment even more poignant.
After the ceremony, guests lined the pathway from the barn to the drinks reception, showering the couple with flower petals as they made their exit. Later, the reception was filled with laughter and joy, with April kicking things off with a welcome toast, followed by heartfelt speeches from the groom, best man, and the fathers of the bride and groom. After the beautiful meal (I highly recommend the Filet Steak!) the bridesmaids wanted to have their say and put some great fun into the evening with their short speeches.
As the night continued, the Blessed Irish Band had everyone on their feet, and April and Conor made a spectacular entrance for their first dance with a sparkler-filled walkway, adding a final touch of magic to an already incredible day and delighted to share this Hotel Doolin Wedding Video.
Thanks for letting me play a part in recording this special day and I hope this little preview will bring back the lovely memories when I continue working on the longer feature film.
