On Friday, 21 June 2024, the picturesque town of Donegal became the backdrop for a truly love filled wedding as Alice Duffy and Matthew Mitchell tied the knot. As the wedding videographer, it was my privilege to capture the love, joy, and unforgettable moments of this special wedding in Donegal Town.
Bridal Preparations
The morning began in Donegal Town, where Alice and her bridal party were getting ready. The talented Aisling Leydon worked her magic with makeup, while Megan Laird styled the bride’s hair to perfection. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement as Alice donned her stunning dress from Mc Elhinneys, complemented by shoes from Rainbow Club and jewellery from Hartmanns in Copenhagen where the happy couple now live.
Groom Preparations
Meanwhile, at Ellen’s Cottage in Glencoagh, Matthew prepared for the big day with his family and best man, Padraig Gavin. Originating from Carrick on Shannon, Leitrim, Matthew’s was not showing any wedding morning nerves as he donned his suit from Addams Menswear, Sligo!
The Ceremony
The wedding in Donegal Town took place with ceremony at St. Patrick’s Church in Donegal Town, officiated by Fr. Seamus Dagens. The Inishfree Band provided beautiful music that enhanced the solemnity of the occasion. Matthew greeted guests warmly at the church entrance, while Alice made a breathtaking entrance, with her mother Patricia and accompanied by her maid of honour, Joanne McGroary, and bridesmaids Chelsea and Kayla Duffy. The signing of the register was accompanied by the song “Viva la Vida,” adding a modern and personal touch to the ceremony.
Reception at Harvey’s
The celebration continued at Harveys Point, a stunning venue that perfectly suited the couple’s elegant taste. The reception was adorned with beautiful decor from Ultimate Touches and flowers by Island Blooms, arranged by Loretta McDaid.
One of the highlights was the special performance by the Hit Machine drummers, who provided a surprise entertainment for the guests. Guests were treated to a delightful cake from Lough Erne Cakes and had great fun with the Northern Lights 360 Camera.
Speeches were heartfelt and memorable, with words from Patricia Duffy, Trevor Mitchell, Padraig Gavin, and the groom himself. The evening culminated in a joyous first dance to “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” performed live by Red Alert.
Conclusion
Alice and Matthew’s wedding was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. It was an honour to capture their story, creating a wedding video that will allow them to relive the magic of their special day for years to come. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
