Hodson Bay Wedding of O&D

Hodson Bay Wedding of Orla and Donough who stopped off at ancient Clonmacnoise in Co Offaly after their ceremony in Ferbane. Delighted to share the preview film here of this beautiful day.

Bride Orla Grehan got ready on the wedding morning at the family home in Ferbane Co Offaly. Aislinn Griffin was Maid of Honour and Sarah Heavin was Bridesmaid. MUA on the wedding morning was Natasha Ray and Lou Merryweather was hairdresser. The Dress and Veil were sourced from Melle Cloche Bridal Boutique Glasgow and the shoes from Paradox in London.

Bridesmaids dresses were from Mottee Maids from Memories Bridal Boutique Lucan. House of Flowers, Mullingar provided the bouquets. Kieran O’Connor soon arrived with the lovely Mercedes to transport the bride and the colour complemented the bridesmaids’ colours perfectly.

The uber talented Paul McGinty of Ghorm Photography was on photo duty for the day and when I arrived in Co Offaly from Donegal Town around 9am I phoned Paul to find he was already on-site for hours scouting some excellent photo locations!

Groom Donough McBrearty with Best Man Brendan Culhane and Groomsman Paddy Mulholland arrived at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Ferbane in good time for the 1pm ceremony. Fr Tom Cox celebrated the nuptial Mass and it was a lovely fun celebration. There was even a tip or two for the Scottish Grand National shared with the congregation! And there was a fun lighthearted moment when the Mothers went for the gifts only to find they were’t out! Luckily Father of the Bride Mick Grehan spotted the gifts in the wrong place and stepped in to fix it!

Claire Sheerin provided the lovely Church music and a Scotish Piper who played outside to welcome the guests piped the happy couple down the aisle after the Mass.

Off to the historic Clonmacnoise Abbey with the bridal party for some beautiful shots here. Orla and Donough got engaged on the Isle of Iona and the Celtic Crosses of Clonmacnoise was such a parallel it was great to include this location during the wedding day before heading to the Hodson Bay Wedding Reception.

At Clonmacnoise in Co Offaly before reception in the Hodson Bay in Athlone

Arriving at the Hodson Bay Hotel in Co Roscommon just outside Athlone in Co Westmeath it was straight into party mode with the Splendid Isolation Trad Band entertaining everyone for the drinks reception. And then SenseAble Kids setup to provide a great space for the kids to play when the speeches were taking place.

After the meal it was over to Red Alert to kick off the evening’s party and the lively crowd partied the night away. Thanks to Donough and Orla for choosing me to record the wedding video for this special day and creating your wedding films.
