Rockhill House Wedding // C&C

Rockhill House Wedding Video of Clodagh & Cian’s big day. On Saturday, August 3, 2024, Clodagh McDermott and Cian O’Brien celebrated their love in an unforgettable wedding at the stunning Rockhill House Estate in Letterkenny, County Donegal. As the wedding videographer, I had the privilege of capturing this beautiful day, filled with emotional moments, heartfelt speeches, and surprise entertainment that made it a day to remember.

The Morning of the Wedding

The day started with bridal preparations at Rockhill House. Clodagh was surrounded by her bridal party, including her sisters, Síofra and Deirdre McDermott, and Cian’s sister, Laoise O’Brien. The atmosphere was one of excitement and anticipation as hair, styled by Eimeir Collins, and makeup, done by Cheryl from The Style Studio, transformed Clodagh into the radiant bride she had envisioned.

Clodagh’s dress, a stunning Evie Young design from The White Room in Mullingar, was complemented by jewellery from Lazlo Jewellers in Galway and elegant Ted Baker shoes. As a videographer, capturing those intimate details—the soft fall of her gown, the glint of her jewellery, and the glow of her makeup—was an absolute joy.

Meanwhile, Cian and his groomsmen prepared in a nearby suite. Cian’s morning was just as busy, with his best men, Aaron Raftery and Joshua Tammaro, by his side. The camaraderie and laughter in the room made for great footage, adding to the anticipation of the day ahead.

The First Look

One of the most poignant moments of the day was the first look, which Clodagh and Cian had arranged to take place around 11:30 a.m. The gardens of Rockhill House provided the perfect backdrop, with the estate’s elegant garden and fountain creating a romantic setting. Cian’s reaction as he saw Clodagh for the first time was pure magic, and the emotions of that moment were something I’m sure they will never forget. This allowed the couple to share some intimate moments together before the official ceremony, which made the day even more special.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place at Rockhill House’s great hall, officiated by Tara Carroll from Spiritual Ceremonies. The musical ambiance, set by the Ulster String Quartet, added a touch of elegance and sentiment to the proceedings. The bridal party walked in to Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams,” and Clodagh made her entrance to the classic “Moon River” by Henry Mancini.

One of the unique elements of the ceremony was the ring warming, where guests were invited to pass the wedding bands among them, infusing them with their love and blessings. Another touching moment was the lighting of the remembrance candle to U2’s “With or Without You,” followed by heartfelt readings, including one from Margaret Raftery, Cian’s grandmother, who shared “The Art of Marriage” by Wilferd A. Peterson.

As the newlyweds walked out to “Dreams” by The Cranberries, the joy was palpable, and their smiles were infectious.

The Reception

Following the ceremony, the couple took family and bridal party photos in the beautiful grounds of Rockhill House. The walled gardens, plant arches, and balcony in the great hall served as picture-perfect settings for these cherished moments.

The reception kicked off with speeches before dinner, with heartfelt words from Aaron Raftery, Joshua Tammaro, Joe McDermott, and Vivienne Raftery, setting the tone for an evening of celebration. A highlight of the evening was the surprise performance by the Singing Waiters during tea and coffee. The energy they brought to the room was electric, and guests were left laughing and clapping along in delight and photographer Darryn Bradley was on hand to capture the moments.

The night continued with music from Top of the Popz, who performed the couple’s first dance live—Barry White’s “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything”—before keeping the dance floor alive well into the night.

A Day to Remember

Delighted that Clodagh and Cian’s film Rockhill House wedding video shows the beautiful celebration of love, family, and joy. From the stunning details of the morning preparations to the emotional ceremony and the vibrant reception, it was a day filled with unforgettable moments. It was an honour to capture their story, and I look forward to delivering the longer wedding feature film over the coming weeks that encapsulates the essence of their special day.
