Congratulations to Dee Dee & Peter who celebrated their wedding in Newtowncunnignham and then onto the Red Door Country House in Fahan, Co Donegal for the reception.
The day began with an air of excitement as Peter readied himself at his idyllic home in Mullinasole. Peter is also a wedding videographer so it was an honour to be asked to film this wedding of Dee Dee and Peter. Alongside Peter was his best man, Kenneth McDonagh who well known for his facebook page Donegal Weather Channel and was optimistically predicting the rain to clear, but between him and the child of Prague, there was not much of a break! However it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of this lovely day.
Meanwhile, at Manorcunningham, bride Deirdre was surrounded by the gentle support of her maid of honour, Aoibheann Diver. The atmosphere was brimming with anticipation as the bride and groom prepared to step into a new chapter of their lives.
The wedding ceremony, held at the Newtowncunningham church. This church is beautifully designed and shaped as a boat and such an eye catching chapel and the ceremony was a heartfelt affair, made even more special with the presence of Fr. Ciaran Harkin, who guided them through their vows and blessed their union. The ambiance was truly magical, punctuated by Aoibheann’s soulful rendition of a psalm, and touching readings by Eunan Diver and Emma Mullaney, all of which added a profound layer of emotion to the day.
Capturing these priceless moments was the talented photographer, Paul McGinty of Ghorm Studio, who skillfully translated fleeting emotions into everlasting snapshots. The couple will forever have these tangible memories to look back upon, a testament to the love they share. Despite the rain Paul found a few sheltered locations to take some great images and it all worked out so well for the video as well!
The celebration continued at the Red Door Country House in Fahan, where the atmosphere was infused with love, laughter, and a touch of enchantment. The Red Door can host around 140 guests for a wedding celebration and the groom Peter was delighted that the head chef is a Ballyshannon man! Amidst clinking glasses and savoury delights, heartfelt speeches resonated, offering well wishes and blessings to the newlyweds. As the day progressed, the evening came alive with music courtesy of Fallen Empire, setting the stage for an unforgettable party.
Undoubtedly, the wedding of Peter and Dee Dee was a testament to their love, their journey, and their bright future together. As they stepped onto the dance floor, the famous Eurovision hit ‘Rock n Roll kids’ by Ballyshannon native Charlie McGettigan gor the party started.
Here’s to Deirdre and Peter, to the promise of a lifetime of shared laughter, quiet moments, and enduring love. May their journey be filled with countless more chapters as beautiful as this one, reminding us all that love is a celebration meant to be shared and cherished.
