Markree Castle Chapel Wedding // O&C

Welcome to the beautiful Markree Castle Chapel Wedding of Cliodhna and Owen. This stunning 17th Century castle was built as the crowning jewel in a 40,000 acre estate. And as Markree is approved for civil ceremonies, cicil partnerships, humanist ceremonies, spiritualist ceremonies and blessings the on-site chapel is an ideal choice to have the entire wedding day all at this exclusive venue.

Bride Cliodhna Broder and bridesmaids Rachel Dooley and Shonagh O’Connor got ready for the big day ahead in the Castle. Hair was by Kreation Salon and Makeup by Sharon McCormack. The beautiful wedding dress was by Australian bridal Boutique Made with Love.

Groom Owen O’Brien was looked after by Groomsmen Cormac Delaney and Stephen Lynam and they got ready in a lovely big room in the castle with loads of character. There also was a lovely bottle of fine Midleton Whiskey which set the day off in style with a little toast.

Beautiful Personalised Vows in the Markree Castle Chapel Wedding ceremony of Cliodhna & Owen

It was Rev Michelle Feeney who celebrated the personalised wedding ceremony for this Markree Castle Chapel Wedding. She is an Interfaith Minister and HSE registered solemniser. After candle lightings to honour the departed there was reading by Sinead and Claire and then after the Exchange of Rings and personalised vows a beautiful reflection by Owen’s sister Niamh.

Pianist Joe Kenny performed the beautiful piano music for the ceremony.

Photographer was Louise Scott who was fantastic to work with and found some lovely locations in the Castle grounds for the creative session.

Then it was time for the drinks reception in the Grand Hall at Markree before the always top quality meal in the Co Sligo Wedding Venue.

Afterwards it was out to the outside courtyard for the first dance as husband and wife under the fairy lights and the stars. A beautiful wedding day for a lovely couple and I wish you all the best for a long and happy future together.
