On a picturesque Friday, July 5th, 2024, the charming town of Cliffoney, County Sligo set the perfect backdrop for the wedding of Zeta O’Connor and Thomas Waters. As the videographer for this joyous occasion, I had the pleasure of capturing the beautiful moments that unfolded, from the bridal preparations in Creevymore to the heartfelt ceremony at the Church of St. Molaise and the lively reception at The Radisson Blu, Rosses Point.
The day began early at Zeta’s family home, where the bridal preparations commenced for Zeta and the girls. With hair expertly styled by Katie Simpson and makeup flawlessly applied by Marcella McGovern, Zeta and her bridal party exuded elegance and excitement. The family home buzzed with anticipation as Zeta’s family, including her parents Marion and Dessie, and her siblings, gathered to support her.
A standout moment from the morning preparations was the unique musical performance by Zeta and her father, Dessie. Just before heading to the church, Zeta played a tune on her tin-whistle while Dessie accompanied her on the banjo. This touching father-daughter duet not only showcased their musical talents but also set a heartfelt tone for the day. Capturing this intimate performance was a true highlight and I just had to use it to underscore this wedding preview video!
Meanwhile, Thomas prepared for the big day at his family home in Ballinfull. Surrounded by his parents Shirley and Seán, his sister Shauna, and his groomsmen, the atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and excitement. The preparations were seamlessly captured, highlighting the close-knit relationships and the anticipation of the day ahead.
The ceremony at the Church of St. Molaise was a lovely personal as Fr Christy knew both the happy couple very well individually and was able to bring the ceremony to life with reverence but also some great humour! With Sinéad Conway’s beautiful music and readings by Rosemarie Hillary and Louise O’Connor, the ceremony was a poignant celebration of love and commitment.
Following the ceremony, the bridal party and family photos were taken against the stunning backdrop of Mullaghmore, capturing the essence of the day amidst the scenic beauty of Sligo. Photographer for the day was Andrew Kilfeather. The reception at The Radisson Blu at Rosses Point was a lively affair, with speeches from loved ones, including both fathers and the best man, Declan Currid, creating a tapestry of cherished memories.
As the night unfolded, the band Bridal Wave set the stage for the couple’s first dance, adding to the atmosphere of the evening. This wedding was a beautiful blend of love, family, and tradition, and it was an honour to capture each moment, preserving the memories of Zeta and Thomas’s special day.
