Delighted to share this Ballintubber Abbey wedding video of this lovely wedding day on the west coast of Ireland. Anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable location for a wedding day needs look no further than the historic Ballintubber Abbey in Co. Mayo. This ancient, beautiful and picturesque setting near Westport and Castlebar is the perfect backdrop for a truly unforgettable wedding celebration, and it’s no wonder that Anne Marie Dolan and Danny Morrissey choose this location for their special day.
The wedding day began with bridal preparations at the family home in Castlebar, Co Mayo. The bride was surrounded by her two sisters, Michelle Dolan and Emer Dolan, who were both bridesmaids. As the bride and her bridal party got ready, they were attended to by the talented Dee Conroy from Redz Salon, who expertly styled their hair to perfection. For the finishing touches, Lisa Ralph make-up was on hand to create beautiful and flawless make-up looks for the bride and her bridesmaids.
The morning was filled with excitement, nerves, and laughter as everyone prepared for the momentous occasion ahead. Anne Marie’s stunning wedding dress was from The White Room in Mullingar, Co Westmeath. Soon it was time to leave for Ballintubber Abbey for the wedding ceremony.
While the bridal party was getting ready at home the groom, Danny Morrissey, and his attendants, Kieran Kennelly and Richard O’Dwyer, were getting ready nearby at the Ellison Hotel in Castlebar, Co Mayo. The groom and his attendants looked dapper and stylish in their classy black tuxedos and bow ties, perfectly complementing the elegance and sophistication of the wedding day. As the groom and his attendants put on the finishing touches, they couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for the moment when they would finally see the bride for the first time.
The wedding ceremony took place at the historic Ballintubber Abbey, a breathtaking location that was the perfect choice for a wedding in Co Mayo. The ceremony was presided over by Fr Pat Farragher, who led a beautiful wedding mass that celebrated the love and commitment of the happy couple. The Bow Musique String Quartet provided a beautiful musical accompaniment to the ceremony, adding a touch of elegance and romance to the proceedings. There were also touching readings and prayers offered for the couple, including their little baby Kate, who was undoubtedly a source of joy and happiness on this special day.
As well as the Ballintubber Abbey Wedding video from myself as videographer there was also the talented Tommy from Molten Sky Weddings in Galway, who expertly documented the day with photography including the ceremony and all of its beautiful details. After the ceremony, the wedding party headed to the beautiful grounds of the abbey for a stunning photoshoot that captured the essence of the day. The picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop for the happy couple and their loved ones to create memories that will last a lifetime.
From there they made their way to the Castlecourt Hotel in nearby Westport which was overlooked by a snow capped Croagh Patrick mountain. At the Castlecourt they were greeted with a warm welcome and an unforgettable entrance. The happy couple made their way into the reception to the sounds of ‘Put em under pressure’, that famous Irish World Cup song that had the room singing along and cheering them on. The energy in the room was electric as the couple entered to a wall of sound, setting the tone for a joyous and celebratory evening.
Before the meal, speeches were given by both fathers, Tony Dolan and Peter Morrissey, who shared heartfelt words of love and congratulations for the happy couple. Groom Danny also took the stage to express his gratitude and appreciation for his new wife and all of their loved ones who had joined them on this special day. The Best Man, Kieran Kennelly, closed out the speeches with a lighthearted and humorous toast that left everyone in high spirits and ready to enjoy the rest of the festivities. It was a truly unforgettable day filled with love, joy, and celebration, and one that will be cherished by all who were lucky enough to be a part of it.
As the evening progressed, the wedding guests were entertained by the talented Good Times band, who got everyone up and dancing with their lively and energetic music. The atmosphere was electric as the newlyweds took to the dance floor for their first dance, which was a beautiful rendition of the classic Waterboys tune ‘The Whole of the Moon’. The couple moved gracefully together as the music filled the room. Soon, the rest of the wedding guests joined them on the dance floor, and the party was in full swing. It was a night filled with love, laughter, and joy, as everyone came together to celebrate the newlyweds and their union. Thanks for choosing me as your wedding videographer and the very best wishes to Danny and Annemarie as they embark on this exciting new chapter of their lives together.
