On Saturday, 9 December 2023, love took centre stage as Donegal Bride Niamh Boyle and Mayo Groom Evan Regan said their “I dos” in a charming celebration that seamlessly blended tradition and personal touches. As their chosen wedding videographer, I had the incredible privilege of capturing the beautiful moments that unfolded throughout the day from the morning prep at Niamh’s family home outside Donegal Town, Evan’s morning at Harvey’s Point, Ceremony in St Patrick’s in Donegal and the big party in Harvey’s which was complemented by the Paddy Moclair Cup. Groom Evan and his Stephenites team mates were able to continue the party together after winning the Mayo County Senior Club Football Championship back in November.
Bridal Preparations: A Symphony of Beauty
The day kicked off with the bridal preparations just outside Donegal Town. The talented duo of Kerry Harvey and Fiona of Fiona’s in Donegal were on hand to creating stunning hair and makeup looks for bride and bridesmaids that complemented the elegance of the day.
Photographer for the day was the excellent Peter Carvil who captured all the precious moments, from the laughter to the quiet anticipation. Niamh looked absolutely radiant in her Eva Lendel gown, paired with Dune London shoes and adorned with jewelery from Rosie & Dott.
Groom Preparations at Harvey’s Point Hotel
Meanwhile, Evan and his groomsmen were getting ready at Harvey’s Point Hotel, just a short distance away. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the gentlemen prepared for the day ahead. The crisp air of anticipation at Harvey’s Point set the perfect backdrop for the beginning of Evan’s wedding day story.
The Bridal Party: A Circle of Love
Niamh’s bridal party was a close-knit circle of support, featuring her Maid of Honour and sister, Bronagh Boyle, bridesmaids Sinead Boyle, Ciara Kelly, and Aine McGroary, along with the adorable flower girls Isla O’Shea and Dearbhla Kelly. Evan’s side was equally significant, with Bestman Diarmuid Durkan, and groomsmen Conor Loftus, Sean Regan, Keith Tighe, and Pageboy Oscar Boyd.
The Ceremony: Love Takes Center Stage
The ceremony unfolded at the historic St. Patrick’s Church in Donegal Town, with Fr. James Gillespie presiding over the joyous ceremony. The ceremony began at 1 pm, and the musical talents of Deane Conaghan added a special touch to the proceedings. Evan’s sister, Laura, delivered a heartfelt reflection.
After exchanging vows and celebrating their marriage with a kiss and a large cheer it was time to get the next part of the day started and it was into the cars for the short trip to Lough Eske to Harvey’s Point to continue gathering some great footage for this Donegal & Mayo Wedding Videography story.
Reception at Harvey’s Point: A Feast for the Senses
Following the ceremony, the celebration continued at the exquisite Harvey’s Point. The reception hall was adorned with floral arrangements from Feehily’s Sligo, setting the stage for heartfelt speeches before the meal. Fintan Boyle, Noel Regan, Diarmuid Durkan, and Evan Regan took turns expressing their love and well-wishes for the newlyweds and there was plenty of humour and fun in the speeches which always goes down well!
As the evening progressed, Gorilla Radio took the stage, serenading the couple with their first dance—dancing to the rhythm of “Love Story.” The saxophone tunes of NataliaSax added a touch of sophistication to the night, ensuring the celebration was nothing short of spectacular.
Niamh and Evan’s wedding day was a testament to love, joy, and the magic that happens when two souls come together. As their chosen videographer, it was an honour to capture every fleeting moment, preserving the essence of their love story for eternity. Cheers to Niamh and Evan—a love that will undoubtedly stand the test of time.
