Congratulations to Emma & John who were married in May 2022 and here’s their Mayo Wedding Video Preview film!
Bride Emma Doherty got ready at home in BehyBeg only a few minutes from the Church in Boniconlon. Brides attendants were Edel Doherty – Maid of Honor and Sister in Law; April Dooley – Bridesmaid and Friend, Grainne Egan- Bridesmaid and Friend, Elaine Lowther Bridesmaid and John’s Sister, Ella Doherty – Junior Bridesmaid – Niece and God-Daughter, Leah Doherty – Flower Girl and Niece & Nathan Doherty – Page Boy and Nephew. On hand in the house also were Pauline & Martin – Emma’s parents and also Aunt Nellie Doherty.
Wedding dress was Essence of Australia from Pamela in Dinagh Modes; Shoes were Christian Louboutin’s for Church & then Jimmy Choo’s for Reception both from Brown Thomas; Wedding Rings were from Cara Jewellers in Dubai, Earrings by Rosie and Dott and the Tennis Bracelet from Rouses Jewellers
Meanwhile on the far side of Ballina at Rathglass West groom John Lowther was getting ready with David Lowther – Best Man and Brother, Mikey Lowther – Groomsman and Cousin, Paddy Golden – Groomsman and Friend, Jerome Wynne – Groomsman and Friend, Éda Lowther – Flower Girl – Niece and God-Daughter & Louis Lowther – Page Boy and Nephew. John and the boys were also getting the cars ready for the day and putting on the ribbons and number plates.
Fr Gerry O’Hora celebrated the nuptial Mass in Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Bonniconlon. Scaffolding poem by Seamus Heaney was read out at the start of Mass to represent the work the couple have put into building their new home.Communion reflection was ‘Hands’ to represent their future together. Other nice touches included a memorial table for grandparents and lockets and pins to remember them. Emma’s grandfather attended the wedding also and got a lovely hug from Emma walking up the aisle.
After the ceremony it was off to the reception at the Radisson Blu in Rosses Point, Co Sligo. There was a nice surprise after dinner when drummers turned up and started a great rhythm and got all the guests going before the Weightless Astronaughts kicked off the nights entertainment.
