Desertmartin Wedding, Co Derry

Delighted to share this lovely Desertmartin wedding of Maeve and Paul which took place in August 2019.

Maeve Gormley got prepared at home with attendants Mary Gallagher, Claire Brides and Denise Craig. While not too far away at the Church for this Desertmartin Wedding was groom Paul Ferguson and his groomsmen David Crawford and Kevin Gormley looking dapper.

After filming the preparations at the brides home it was over to the Church at Coolcalm to capture a few of the arrivals to this Dersertmartin Wedding Celebration.

Once everyone had settled in at St Mary’s Church in Dersermartin Fr McGirr got proceedings off with a lovely personalised wedding ceremony. Lovely to meet Fr McGirr for the first time and delighted to find out that by chance I know some of his Donegal family really well!

The ceremony music was by the talented Songbirds who were just lovely and really set off the wedding ceremony atmosphere in Coolcalm in Desertmartin.

Towards the end of the lovely ceremony the bride’s niece read a beautiful reflection and it was time to sign the registry and have some family photos taken. The Photographer was Paul McGinty of Ghorm Studio Photography and soon we were on the road to Co Donegal!

On arrival to Harvey’s Point Country Hotel on the shores of Lough Eske it was time for the wedding party to mingle. All the guests were arriving and it was nice that they all got to spend some time mixing and meeting up.

The speeches were by the Father of the Bride, the Groom and the Best man and then after a fantastic meal it was time to party!

The Bently Boys kicked off the evening’s entertainment with Bruce Springsteen Tougher than the rest for the first dance song in Harvey’s. Soon enough the whole crowd were out dancing and the party really got going!
