Congratulations to Kathryn Armstrong and Stephen Quinn who were married on Friday August 16th 2019. This was my first time as Monaghan wedding videographer so delighted to have been asked to video this special day and get a little drive around a few new places.
Morning preparations in Co Fermanagh
Kathryn got ready at the family home in Letterbreen Co Fermanagh with bridesmaids Katie McKechnie and Laura Elliot. Hair Stylist Daniel Anthony was brilliant working alongside MUA Chloe Barr. The beautiful wedding dress was by Justin Alexander and shoes were from Monsoon (links below).
Jonathan arrived to the Church in Letterbreen only a short distance away. He was with groomsmen Jonathan Fullerton and Matthew Armstrong. Rev Lorna Dreaning was greeting the attendance all excitedly awaiting the Bride’s arrival.
This is a lovely little country Methodist Church which is nice and airy inside. It has some beautiful stained glass window features. It’s right on the Sligo road and has loads of parking in the grounds. But they had also arranged off road parking just around the corner too. This was ideal as there were lots of guests and therefore lots of cars!
There was coffee and some delicious home baking out front for after the ceremony. It was nice to have the extra space freed up from cars. This allowed the guests to all be able to mingle right after the wedding.
Hilton Park, Co Monaghan
After a beautiful wedding ceremony it was off to the amazing Hilton Park – a stunning historic house set on over 400 acres of manicured gardens, woodland, lakes and the classic house. This really is one of Ireland’s great houses and the original family still owns this for the last 300 years!
This was my first time filming in Co Monaghan, and Hilton Park is not far from Clones. I’ve visited Clones many times for Donegal GAA matches. Some great days out in Monaghan for these events, so it was nice to be back in the area for another great day out – but nothing to do with football!
The house is set with an inner courtyard and there is a permanent marquee in the middle . There is also a proper space for a bar and lots of little alcoves and plenty of room for a full kitchen. It has the advantages of a hotel. This is combined with the advantages of a marquee. And none of the disadvantages of either. You really need to see this place to believe it. The scene was set for one epic evening party with family and friends!
Best of luck in the future to a lovely couple and thanks for trusting me to record these special memories as wedding videographer on your beautiful day.
