A beautiful Christmas Lough Eske Castle wedding for Helen and Ian who were married on the 28th December 2018.

The beautiful Bride Helen O’Callaghan got prepared in Lough Eske Castle near Donegal Town and was helped by bridesmaids Gail, Denise and Niamh. Hair & Makeup was by Callan & Co. They used the bridal suite to get ready which was great as there was loads of room for everyone but also some beautiful natural winter light streaming into the room.

Lough Eske Castle Exterior
Lough Eske Castle near Donegal Town is an amazing Choice for a wedding and I just love creating Wedding Films here. I used to play as a child in the ruins of the old castle and it’s always hard to believe what an amazing job the restoration did to bring this stunning castle back to its former glory.

Meanwhile the Groom Ian Rooney was also getting prepared in the Castle and was assisted by groomsmen Andrew, Eoin and Tim. Again a nice big spacious room and big windows so I was very happy with that too! Flowers were arranged by Feehily’s Florist and the Wedding Car was supplied by Gerard McGirr Wedding Services. Gerard is based near Lifford and is an absolute gentleman to work with, the cars are always immaculate and he has a great manner with people and would settle anyone’s nerves if you had any!

Wedding Ceremony in St Patrick’s Donegal Town

The wedding was Celebrated by Fr Peoples in St Patrick’s Church in Donegal Town. This was built in the 1930s is an iconic building made of Barnesmore Granite with a subtle but colourful pink hue. The beautiful Church music was by Michelle Feeney.¬†Photographer for the day was the lovely¬†Nicola Webster who is a talented Dublin based photographer and it was so easy to work alongside her and we were able to get everything we both needed so easily and discreetly.

Entertainment on the night was by The Mixtape band in the Castle and what a lively night it was. The Castle is perfect for rooms or a meal but the setup for a wedding party is great too and it’s well worth checking out for anyone thinking of a wedding in Donegal. Thanks for letting me be a part of your special wedding day in Co Donegal and many happy years ahead to you both!
