A Cathedral Wedding: In 2019 Fiona and Mark set their date for the 27th March 2021 – a double date as this was Mark’s parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. Obviously the situation changed with the lockdown and restrictions but the happy couple decided to go ahead with their original wedding date with a beautiful simple wedding with only the immediate family at Glendowan Church – the big day in St Eunan’s Cathedral would be something to look forward to once restrictions were lifted.

Fr Michael Carney celebrated this lovely wedding mass and then one year later, surrounded by the extended family and friends the happy couple renewed their vows in Letterkenny Cathedral in March 2022. Fr Carney was on hand to mark this occasion too with a lovely ceremony in the Cathedral town.

Bride Fiona McDaid got ready at home between Drumkeen and Letterkenny with Martina Grier, Pauline McDaid and Tina McKelvey as Bridesmaids. Meanwhile Karol Harvey, John D Rouse and Kieran McNulty were helping Mark get ready at the family home in Letterkenny.

The scene was set at nearby for this St Eunan’s Cathedral Wedding celebration and the guests started arriving in good time before the bride’s Dad Josie walked bride Fiona up the aisle for the second time! During the communion the groom Mark, along with Best Man Karol, beautifully sang Nella Fantasia. The rest of the ceremony music was by Paul McNulty, Karen McNulty, Ruth McNulty & Ciara McFadden.

After the Cathedral Wedding Ceremony the bride and groom departed with the bridal party for the photoshoot. Photographer Paul McGinty of Ghorm Photography had picked some stunning locations and then it was over to the Villa Rose in Ballybofey to get the evening started.
